Job Overview

Oak Tree Schools offer academically enriching environments that support children’s social and emotional growth. Our inclusive programs are designed to help all children, with a focus on closing achievement and access gaps for Black, Latino, and economically challenged students. As a Title 5 center, we require teachers to have at least an Associate Teacher Permit.

Ideal candidates for our program should:

Responsibilities

• Step into various classrooms to provide support as needed.

• Relieve teachers for breaks and lunches to maintain smooth classroom operations.

• Assist teachers in delivering lessons using the MAE for Pre-K curriculum.

• Foster a kind, respectful, and safe emotional and physical environment for children.

• Support students’ social-emotional and academic development.

• Maintain consistency in classroom routines and expectations.

• Build strong relationships with children, parents, and staff.

• Follow California Title 22/Title 5 regulations, including maintaining cleanliness, safety, and organization.

• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and in-service sessions.

Qualifications

• Is 18 years of age or older.

• High School diploma (equivalent GED)

• Knowledge of and ability to comply with applicable laws and regulations.

• At least six months of work experience in a licensed childcare center or comparable group child care program.

• Complete 16 hours of health and safety training.

• Adaptability and willingness to work with various age groups and classroom settings.

• Title 5 Teachers must hold a California Teacher Permit or willingness to obtain prior to employment
